PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Plainville Fire Department said seven horses were killed in a barn fire Tuesday morning.

The department said crews were notified of a barn fire at Janbark Farm on Warren Street around 4 a.m. .

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in 20 minutes, and 15 horses were saved.

No people were injured.

Officials said there was no smoke detector inside the barn.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
