Deegan McMillan scored twice in leading Vernon Vipers (4-10-5) to a 4-2 win over West Kelowna Warriors (15-3-2) in BCHL junior hockey action, Saturday at Kal Tire Place.
Dmitrii Kubantsev and Noah Garthe also scored for the winners. In a rarity, Tyler Chiovetti notched the lone Vernon assist as three of the four goals were unassisted. Noah Garthe had both goals for the Warriors. Colton Jugnauth had the win in net with 25 saves.
The Vipers picked up three points this past weekend, also losing 3-2 in overtime to Salmon Arm Silverbacks (10-6-2). Mateu Spath scored the win at 8:38 in overtime. Lane Sim and Toms Trockis scored for Vernon.
The Warriors began the weekend with a 3-1 home win over Sherwood Park (11-7-2). Jace Rask scored twice in the win. Kelsen Podworny added a single.
