The work of the nonpartisan U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had been the global gold standard for health science -- until Donald Trump-compliant Republican senators confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Kennedy is keeping the president’s promise that he would let RFK Jr. “go wild on health.” The latest example is Kennedy’s instruction to the CDC to alter its website to assert a nonexistent link between autism and vaccines.
The CDC went from stating truthfully that “vaccines do not cause autism” to the inaccurate assertion now on its website that, “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.” And the equally misleading state
