LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Police Department is urging shoppers to take extra precautions as large crowds are expected for Black Friday at local stores.
Officers say shoppers should not leave valuables or shopping bags in plain sight inside vehicles and should make sure cars are locked.
Laredo police will have extra patrols throughout the holiday season to help prevent crime. Investigator Joe Baeza said shoppers should stay alert to their surroundings.
“A lot of people have their faces buried in their phones, even out in public. I understand they’re probably comparing prices, or doing whatever shopping mission there is, but you need to be aware of your surroundings,” Baeza said. “Right now, people know that people have money, that they’re out in the stores shopping with money, and
