KINGSTON, N.Y. — Unsubstantiated reports of shots fired in the city in the late evening on Saturday, Nov. 22, and in the early morning on Sunday, Nov. 23, were investigated by city police, according to a press release.

The Saturday incident was reported in the area of Liberty and Franklin streets and the Sunday incident was reported on Prospect Street between Liberty and St. James streets, police said Tuesday.

“Despite reports from several individuals hearing shots; following an extensive search of the area Kingston Police were unable to locate evidence of shots being fired in the area,” police said.

City police were assisted by town of Ulster police, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and state police.
