Fabio Fognini has shared his perspective on the mindsets of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner regarding their decision to skip the Davis Cup. The recently retired player believes that despite the tournament taking a huge hit because of high-profile departures, it isn’t the utmost priority of Alcaraz and Sinner.

Fognini believes that such decisions can hamper the tournament, and it is important that the format gets reviewed. The Italian ended his career at Wimbledon after playing an enthralling five setter in the opening round against Alcaraz. Fognini said on Eurosport Italy :
