DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Duluth leaders say the city’s 36 plow drivers are ready to start clearing the roads during a predicted Thanksgiving week winter storm.

Exactly when the plow drivers will hit the roads will depend on how exactly the storm plays out, according to the operations manager for the city of Duluth’s street maintenance team, Geoff Vukelich.

Vukelich told Northern News Now Tuesday that they have been spending a lot of time training drivers on their routes before the snow.

He warns it could be more slippery than everyday drivers might expect out there when the snow starts falling. Vukelich said that’s because since this is the first big snow of the season, and there’s no leftover salt from past storms on the roads.
