LENA, Ill. — The Lena-Winslow Panthers are gearing up for a return to the state title game after defeating Stockton in the state semifinals. The victory avenges their only loss this season, and expectations remain high for the renowned football program.

"It's great to still be playing this time of year. We've been part of that for quite a few years now. It never gets old," said Ric Arand, the head coach of the Panthers since 1997, who has never experienced a losing season.

This season, the team showcases a dynamic duo at running back. Aiden Wild and Alec Schlichting have combined for nearly 3,500 rushing yards. Schlichting, known for his speed, is a critical asset on the field.
