GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Local farmers are waiting for certain news. The Trump administration has talked for months about a federal aid package to help farmers offset losses incurred due to the tariff war.

Soybeans sales are one example, with China not buying any U.S. soybeans until just recently following a meeting at the end of last month between President Trump and President Xi.

A $10 billion to $15 billion aid package was discussed before the government shutdown. Two weeks after re-opening, there is still no aid package, although the Secretary of Agriculture said on Monday that could happen soon.

Farmers are still waiting on specifics, at a time when they could use some financial certainty.
