The Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing inside linebacker Mark Robinson from the practice squad after he played two games for the team, they announced on Tuesday. That move was made to clear space for others.
Robinson joined the team to play special teams when there were injuries in the room, but with the full healthy complement of linebackers back, the team is moving on from Robinson.
Robinson was cut by the New York Jets on October 21. He joined the team after being signed off the New England Patriots’ practice squad.
Robinson played in three games for the Patriots after being elevated from the practice squad, and seemingly would have been promoted to the 53-man roster before the Jets swooped him and grabbed him.
