A 38-year-old man has been charged with homicide in the Nov. 18 death of Scott Valencia, 46 , of Pueblo West. Shawn Thomas Brotherton was booked the evening of Nov. 24 on a new warrant charging first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Valencia.

Brotherton has been in Pueblo County Jail since he was arrested on Nov. 19 on outstanding warrants unrelated to the homicide, according to a news release from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.
