OMAHA, Neb. —

For nearly nine decades, Nebraska Furniture Mart has been ringing in the holidays with one of its biggest days of the year, Black Friday. This year is no different, despite national economic pitfalls.

Store Director Scott Baker compares Black Friday to a "Broadway play."

"Most of our customers don't really understand what goes into making this thing happen," Baker said.

Preparations for the next year commence after each Black Friday ends. NFM said a key piece of the puzzle is speculating what the "hot ticket items" are going to be for the following year.

This year, the store is debuting its "Amazon: Store within a Store," as the only retailer in the country with one. Customers can get a full-service experience with sales professionals guiding them through each product.
