A drink-driver clocked more than 100mph in front of following officers while travelling 30 miles along a busy Northumberland road. Daniel Milburn had left a caravan site in Wooler following an argument with his then-partner but was reported to the police as potentially being over the limit.
A court heard that the 33-year-old was seen to hit speeds of 100mph as he travelled along the A697, a mainly 60mph road, to Longhorsley, where he was eventually pulled over. Milburn, of East Acres, in Blaydon , Gateshead , then failed a roadside breath test, giving a reading of 46mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35mcg.
