A violent stalker beat up his former girlfriend, wrapped his hands around her neck and shouted "I'll kill you". Paul Douglas, 50, told the terrified woman she "wasn't going anywhere" as she desperately tried to flee his property, then opened the door of the balcony and said "do you want to go out that way?"

Douglas, of Croxteth Drive, Sefton Park, had been in a relationship with the woman for just three months between December 2024 and March 2025. After the relationship came to an end, he bombarded the woman with abusive texts and voicemail messages, and showed up outside her house.
