Giants legend Eli Manning moved one step closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday, earning semifinalist status for the second consecutive year. Last year, he was a finalist in his first year of eligibility but was not selected.
Other notable selections include quarterbacks Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Smith Jr., tight end Jason Witten, defensive back Rodney Harrison, linebackers Luke Kuechly and Terrell Suggs, and kicker Adam Vinatieri.
After the then-San Diego Chargers (now in Los Angeles) selected Manning first overall in the 2004 NFL draft, he was traded to the Giants (coincidentally for Rivers) and became the team’s franchise quarterback for 16 seasons, compiling a 117-117 record. He threw for 57,023 yards, 366 touchdowns and
