DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is almost here and ahead of it, an Iowa State trooper is sharing some tips on how you can stay safe, especially if your plans include drinking alcohol.
“I think it’s just paying attention to more of getting more enforcement out there to be able to look for more impaired drivers,” said trooper Joseph Donahue. “Having these type of joint partnerships with the local police departments to hopefully let people know, hey, we are out here, find a safe ride home, plan for an Uber or Lift, or something like that, or just stay where you’re at. If you’re at a family or friends residence, try to stay there. That way you’re safe and you’re keeping everybody else on the roadway safe as well.”
