ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - Rock Island city leaders continue to discuss proposed changes to how social service organizations operate.
Council members approved amendments in a first reading about establishing a social services license, removing 49 person occupancy limit and one that would give the city the ability to revoke or suspend a facilities license if they weren’t following state laws.
The amendments drew reaction from local service providers, with some questioning the city’s approach to regulating their operations.
Service providers respond to proposed changes
