FARGO — North Dakota State head coach Tim Polasek is among the 15 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Award, which goes to the national coach of the year in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision.
Polasek has led the undefeated Bison into the FCS playoffs, which for NDSU begins on Dec. 6 against the winner of Illinois State and No. 16 seed Southeastern Louisiana. Kevin Cahill of Lehigh is another nominee with an unblemished record this season.
The announcement that Polasek was a finalist for the award came a day before the Bison head coach agreed to a seven-year contract extension with the team on Tuesday.
The Eddie Robinson Award recipient will be announced for its 39th season on Dec. 4.
Former NDSU head coach Craig Bohl won the award in 2012 and 2013.
