A major UK motorway has been shut overnight after a serious multi-vehicle collision.

The M54 in Shropshire is closed westbound between J2 (Wolverhampton) and J3 (Albrighton), after the incident, National Highways said .

The crash occurred at 11.40pm on Tuesday, November 25 when a lorry crossed over from the eastbound carriageway to the westbound carriageway.

West Midlands Ambulance and West Mercia Police are in attendance.
