CHEYENNE — The approaching holiday season can be difficult for many people, especially those struggling to put food on the table. The annual Laramie County Community Christmas Project aims to relieve that stress, and give families the holiday season they deserve.
The program has two main sources of funding: the American Legion Bar Bucks program and the Wyoming Tribune Eagle’s Empty Stocking Fund. Last year, the fundraisers raised $47,163 and $8,284, respectively, for a total of $55,447.
Bar Bucks works in partnership with bars, restaurants and taverns across the county to collect donations to support the Community Christmas program. Money for the Empty Stocking Fund is raised through online and mail-in donations.
