PONTIAC, MI – A Metro Detroit couple and one adult son are facing first-degree child abuse and torture charges after two young siblings were found to be severely malnourished when taken to a local hospital earlier this month.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office filed the charges Tuesday, Nov. 25, against Arturo and Dulce Bazan, a 43- and 42-year-old husband and wife from Pontiac, as well as 24-year-old Carlos Bazan-Hernandez.

Each has been brought up on two counts of child abuse and torture with intent to cause extreme physical or mental pain and suffering, according to district court records.
