MOORHEAD — Terryn Johnson and Abby John scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, as MSU Moorhead pulled away in the second half to top the University of Minnesota-Crookston 74-58 on Tuesday in their Northern Sun women’s basketball opener.

Karlee Fisher added 17 points and John also grabbed 10 rebounds as the Dragons improved to 3-1 overall.

The Golden Eagles’ Emma Miller had a game-high 19 points, and Anna Westby added 14 points and 12 rebounds for Crookston. The Dragons only led 30-26 at halftime, but took control in the second half, scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter.

Moorhead also outrebounded Crookston 42-34. The Dragons next host the University of Alaska Fairbanks at 2 p.m. Friday at Nemzek Fieldhouse.
