Alabama remains No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings as the Crimson Tide prepares to face Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
It is critically important that Alabama beat Auburn on Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium because a loss would drop Alabama to 9-3 and virtually eliminate its playoff hopes. Auburn would become bowl eligible at 6-6 if it won the game.
As it stands now, Alabama would play in the first round of the playoffs at No. 7 Ole Miss. Kiffin, who was once offensive coordinator at Alabama, is 0-4 vs. the Crimson Tide with Ole Miss.
If Alabama wins the Iron Bowl, the Crimson Tide would move to the SEC Championship Game. Its opponent would be No. 3 Texas A&M if the Aggies win at No. 16 Texas.
