The brave victim of a Birmingham child sex abuser has told how his life spiralled as he tried to cope with his trauma.
Marcus Carlton was just 16 when he was first abused by William Douglas in 1989.
The 52-year-old, speaking exclusively to BirminghamLive after waiving his right to sexual anonymity, said he dropped out of college, struggled to hold down a job and turned to alcohol to numb his pain.

Douglas, 58, was jailed this month for sexually abusing Mr Carlton and another boy in the mid-to-late 1980s. A court heard he trafficked and prostituted the second victim.
