Out-of-favour Liel Abada has been warned he needs to earn the "trust" of his team-mates as the former Celtic winger faces an uncertain future in Major League Soccer. ‌

Charlotte FC boss Dean Smith served it up straight to the wide man who carries the precious 'designated player' tag. The winger left Glasgow in January 2024 amid mounting political pressure in Israel with vocal and visible support for the Palestine cause, which led to Celtic brokering a £10m deal. ‌

But Abada struggled mightily last season with fans and observers believing he was falling below expectations. The 24-year-old scored seven goals across 36 games but concerns over his overall contribution led to a reduced role as the season reached its climax. ‌
