Scottish Conservative MSP Maurice Golden has said his party has moved so far from its values that he will not stand for it again.
In a candid interview with the Holyrood Sources podcast , the North East Scotland MSP — who has been a Conservative member for 25 years and has stood in seven elections — said the party was now “fundamentally different” from the one he joined and from the platform it offered voters as recently as 2021.
He also said he other parties — including the SNP — had approached him about defecting.
