Swathes of the UK will be hammered by fierce winds tomorrow (November 27) as a 19-hour weather warning takes hold. The Met Office has issued a yellow wind alert covering the Highlands and Eilean Siar, Orkney and Shetland and Strathclyde for Thursday and Friday. Powerful winds are set to tear through these regions, beginning around 4pm on Thursday and battering areas until 11am on Friday.
The warning was issued on Wednesday, with a Met Office forecast stating: "Very strong southwesterly winds will develop during Thursday evening, continuing overnight before easing
