The Hailey City Council on Monday voted 3-0 to approve the conversion of Hailey’s Skyway Motel, formerly the Airport Inn, into long-term rental units, including seven that will be set aside for deed-restricted housing.

Project plans call for the transformation of 47 motel rooms at 804 S. Fourth Ave. into 25 apartment units. Another 21-unit complex at the back of the property—the Apartments at Airport Inn, built by the same developers in 2021—would remain unchanged. Together, the two projects would bring the site’s total unit count to 46, exceeding the 32-unit density cap set by Hailey’s Limited Business Zone.
