Former Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is publicly praising the Trump administration in the course of her efforts to advance the use of the psychedelic ibogaine as a mental health treatment option.

In a Q&A published Nov. 23 in Politico Magazine , Sinema calls health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Make America Healthy Again, MAHA, movement "amazing." She also says the disruptive force of the Trump administration has created an opportunity for ibogaine's eventual approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a legitimate treatment, rather than an illegal federal Schedule I drug that's not approved for medical use.
