Sir Elton John has revealed that the past 15 months have been "challenging" as he faces the effects of severe vision loss. The 78-year-old music icon contracted a serious eye infection in July 2024 while in France, which left him completely blind in his right eye and with only "limited vision" in his left. ‌

Now Elton has issued a new health update on his 'devastating' eye issues, revealing he hasn't been able to see, watch or read anything since the infection took hold in July last year. However, the Rocket Man and Tiny Dancer hit maker has said he determined to remain optimistic about his sight going forward. ‌
