Villanova hasn’t lost a football game since September. Any inclination toward complacency is unlikely to fly around the Wildcats’ veteran leaders.
The eight-game winning streak for No. 6/9 Villanova (11-1) will be tested Saturday in its opener in the Division I Football Championship against Harvard.
“I think there’s a lot of confidence, but sometimes that can turn into arrogance, which I think we’ve done a good job of holding back,” senior linebacker Shane Hartzell said after last week’s 34-10 win over Sacred Heart. “So, I think as we keep going, we gain our confidence, and the amount of energy that we can come out with in the game, that’s what’s going to spark a big place.”
Villanova will take on a Harvard team coming off its only loss of the season, a 45-28 defeat to Yale.
