Bloomington may be in for a snowy Thanksgiving weekend .

Wednesday, Nov. 26, is set to bring 40 to 50 mph winds and a chance of scattered snow flurries between 3 and 5 p.m., before a western storm system brings a chance of further snowfall on Saturday and Sunday.

Thanksgiving is a holiday. Will the county still be treating roads?

Yes. Even though Monroe County government offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 28, staff at the Highway Department will be monitoring conditions and pre-treating and plowing roads as needed.

Lisa Ridge, Monroe County Highway Department director, said the department is planning on pre-treating the roads with salt and sand brine on Wednesday.
