Too many 'patriots' fly the US flag but forget what it means

This is one of my biggest pet peeves: people who fly U.S. flags and forget about them.

So often people get this sudden urge to show their patriotism by buying and displaying the flag. They put their flags on poles by their house, on their house, on their vehicle. They are so proud to see it flapping in the breeze.
