FORT DODGE, Iowa (KCRG) - Jamie Blundy told KCCI she will never forget the moment she heard a building collapse just across the street from her home.

“My boyfriend and I were just hanging out in the living room watching TV, and out of nowhere I heard this huge crash.”

Part of the building, located at the corner of First Avenue South and South 16th Street, came crashing down Sunday . Blundy said at first, she thought a bomb had gone off.

“It was so loud, it shook the entire house,” she said. “I was shaking for hours later.”

She was able to call 911 and described the scene.

“The entire upper part of the facade of the building had all fallen, and it came off in two big sheets, just like narrowly missing this car that was driving by.”
