TAMPA, Fla. — AAA is launching its free car service on Wednesday to help prevent impaired driving during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The program is offering a safe ride for would-be impaired drivers and their vehicles as a last resort from 6 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Monday, according to a news release.
When someone calls the service, a tow truck is dispatched to transport the vehicle and its owner to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. It's free regardless of whether the caller is a AAA member.
