Rats just don't care when their compatriots climb into a chamber seeking food and instead get zapped to death. Or maybe, Cambridge Day reports, it's because the city bought rat zappers designed for use in sewers and they're just not that good, so they'll be trying above-ground units, aimed at rats that don't hang out with mutant turtles that can warn them. In any case, the city will also be trying other steps, such as beefing up its efforts to get residents to put out food waste in rat-resistant containers for composting, instead of in the regular trash.
