Yorkshire's hosepipe ban could end 'in the next few weeks' after an increase in reservoir levels, according to water bosses.

Yorkshire Water is taking steps to remove restrictions following a tenth week of increases to reservoir levels.

Continuous heavy rainfall over the last seven days has boosted reservoir levels from 80.5 per cent last week to 84.6 per cent.

Dave Kaye, director of water and wastewater services at Yorkshire Water, said: "We’re now confident that we’re moving into a healthy position across our reservoirs, rivers, and groundwater water sources, after seeing further rainfall over the last seven days, and another significant jump in our reservoir levels.
