LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — The Lincoln Police Department said an Omaha man has died after a shooting in north Lincoln.
Matthias Washington, 29, passed away from his injuries on Tuesday, according to police.
On Saturday at 4 p.m., Lincoln Police were called to a shooting at an apartment near North Ninth Street and Belmont Avenue.
According to LPD, there was a series of arguments between two family members throughout the day that ultimately led to the shooting. Officers arrived and started CPR on Washington with a single gunshot wound.
LPD said investigators are working to determine if the 34-year-old Lincoln man also in the apartment was acting in self-defense based on evidence recovered at the scene and witness statements.
