Some people who live around Court Street say they like the new bike lane .

“We finally have a crosswalk,” said one woman crossing Court Street with her newborn.

“Would I rather get hit by a car or a bike? Much rather get hit by a bike,” said another area resident. “It’s way safer.”

“I like bike lanes, I like colored bike lanes, especially when they’re separated from cars,” said cyclist Rick Nagelschmidt.

However, others have varying opinions.

“I have mixed feelings about it,” said Adam, who did not want to give his last name. “You can’t really cross the street safely because you can’t see the bikes coming behind the cars. My biggest problem with the bike lane is less about the bikes. It’s the non-enforcement of the rules.”
