CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A 55-year-old Conover man has been arrested after a child-exploitation investigation, according to the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation launched after the sheriff's office received a cyber tip reporting "possible child-exploitation activity." Investigators with the sheriff's office identified Jeremy Scott Arney as a suspect and took him into custody after executing a search warrant at a Conover home on Cedar Valley Drive.
He is being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $600,000 secured bond, and has been charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Arney is expected to appear in court on Dec. 1.
