MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A coordinated search involving multiple agencies led to the safe recovery of a missing hunter in Monroe County on Tuesday evening.

According to the Peterstown Volunteer Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 4:20 p.m. on November 25 for a report of a possible missing hunter.

Fire departments from Peterstown, Ballard, and Lindside responded to the call.

They were joined by officers from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, the West Virginia State Police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Celanese Emergency Response Team.

Search crews deployed drones operated by the DNR, the sheriff’s office, and the Celanese team. Two tracking dogs were also used to assist in locating the hunter.
