Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s daughters were not happy when they learned about their 2007 breakup — and they sided with their dad.

The couple discussed how Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10, reacted to their on-screen split while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Tuesday to promote their 2012 movie, “Hit and Run,” which is now on Netflix.

The independent film, which was written by Shepard, is loosely based on his relationship with Bell and tells the story of their relationship and brief breakup.

“Our kids rarely show interest in us, as anyone with kids knows, but they did want to see this movie we made, cause we’re very much in love,” Shepard explained, adding that at the time they filmed the project, they were “childless, and we had nothing to do but love each other.”
