FARGO — North Dakota State linebacker Logan Kopp was recognized as being one of the top defensive players in Division I FCS, named a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award.

The award is given annually to the national defensive player of the year in FCS.

Former Bison defensive end Kyle Emanuel won the Buck Buchanan Award in 2014.

The 6-foot-1, 221-pound Kopp 64 total tackles, including nine for a loss, in 12 regular season games. He also has three sacks and a fumble recovery. Kopp was also a finalist for the award in 2023.

The award will be announced at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee.
