It may feel like winter outside, but Quinte Symphony is feeling the warmth of the tango for its annual pre-Christmas concert this Saturday at 2:30 in Maranatha Church auditorium. Title for this concert is Tinsel and Tango. Parents are encouraged to bring their children for this colourful family concert.

Buit there will definitely be a big touch of the season here, with seven selections from Tchaikowsky’s evergreen Nutcracker.

Also for Christmas is the polonaise from Christmas Eve Suite, by Rimsky- Korsakov.

A more contemporary and less known piece is Dances in the Canebreaks by Florence Price.

Then into the tango part, it will be Libertango by A.Piazzola and Blue Tango by Leroy Anderson, closing with the tinsel theme:
