RED HOOK — DESIGNER GABRIELA HEARST hosted a sold-out Creatives for Freedom concert on Saturday at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, drawing a packed crowd for performances by Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Maggie Rogers, Mark Ronson and others, according to Vogue . A star-studded guest list turned out to back the ACLU, which Hearst said is critical to defending “women’s rights, democracy, and climate [action].”
“As artists, not only do we enjoy the First Amendment, but we make a living off of being able to speak truth to power. For me, it has always been a part of who I am and what I do. To feel the threat of those in power when speaking up is very alarming,” Crow told Vogue.
