UD AL-BAYDA, United Arab Emirates — Alex DuBord has taken photos with camels at the ballpark this November, while playing baseball more than 7,500 miles from Fargo.
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks closer in playing for the Karachi Monarchs of Baseball United, a four-team professional league, with a month-long season playing on a ballpark on the Dubai outskirts.
“The city of Dubai is unreal," said DuBord, who turns 29 in early December. "It's a cool experience."
Each team plays nine games with the season starting in mid-December. The top two teams advance to the United Series that is slated to conclude in mid-December. BU is a professional baseball organization in the Middle East and South Asia.
