A businessman who defrauded customers out of more than £1 million has been jailed. Adam Moore-Lynch ran Manchester Watch Hub, a company selling second hand watches.
At first the company was legitimate and successful, but when it hit problems Moore-Lynch began a 'Ponzi scheme'. Customers who had trusted the firm to sell their watch on their behalf did not see any cash, or did not get their watch back.
Between August 2023 and November 2023, when the firm closed, 45 victims had been defrauded out of a combined total of £1,160,460. One victim said he had 'never met someone so deceitful, crooked or shameless' as Moore-Lynch.
