Brewery owners were left less than impressed by today's Budget.

Brother Henry and Barry Chevallier Guild - who formerly owned Aspall Cyder in Debenham before selling it on to US drinks giant Molson Coors - now own a brewery in Eye, Mid Suffolk.

Rises in Living and Minimum Wage rates will hit their customers - the hospitality trade - particularly hard as they are big employers with a UK workforce of about 1m, they warned.

A rise in duty in line with inflation is another challenge, they said.

"The increase in alcohol duty by 3.66% won’t help," said Barry.
