Another coaching carousel domino has fallen, this time in the Group of Five ranks.
On Wednesday, Colorado State announced that it was hiring UConn head coach Jim Mora to replace Jay Norvell, who was fired earlier this season amid a disappointing start. Mora will join the Rams ahead of their move to the Pac-12 in 2026.
It will be a return to the Pac-12 for Mora, a West Coast native who was previously the head coach at UCLA from 2012-17. He was also previously the head coach of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons.
Mora took over one of the FBS' most struggling programs when he arrived at UConn in 2022, and he's quickly turned things around. He holds a 27-23 record and has won nine games in each of the past two seasons.
Mora's move is immediate, and offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis will serve as the Huskies' interim head coach for their bowl game.
