Prices will rise at the petrol pumps next year following a decision made by Rachel Reeves over fuel duty.

The Chancellor rolled over a 5p cut to the duty, which was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, but said it would be reversed come next September.

Motoring groups said it would be a “hammer blow” to businesses and families.
